Whalers End Losing Streak Capture First Victory 8-2

The Skate Zone Floor was clean, the refs didn't call any penalties, Montel wasn't complaining about playing time, and Matt Arena had a smile on his face the entire game.

Losing Streak of 5 games came to an end last night, as the Whalers were victorious 8-2. The team called a player only meeting before the game and talked about the suspension of Quads Skates, and how they could win in his honor.

Montel had these fine words before the game; "We now can play as a team. Without Quads I can finally receive the playing time I truly deserve. I can't score any goals siting on the bench. I need to play as much as possible. I set high expectations for myself of a 60 goal season, and right now I need 58 more goals to accomplish this task. I'm not worried about the team, all I can do right now is focus on my own individual goals. Lets go out there and pass me the puck! Go Montel!"

With this inspirational speech the Whalers put their main attention to setting up Montel in front of the net. After numerous whiffs, Montel finally connected on some one-timers, which was more than enough to secure the victory.

Next week's game is against District 5, which will be most likely the opponent of the Whalers in the first round of the playoffs. Quads will return from his suspension, and JD is day to day with an injury.
